Endeavor Pakistan Appoints Mubariz Siddiqui as Managing Director

Endeavor Pakistan has appointed Mubariz Siddiqui as its new Managing Director, effective November 1, 2026. Siddiqui will lead the organization's Pakistan team and report to its local board and Endeavor Global. He replaces Shehryar Hydri, who previously served as Managing Director.

The transition marks a new chapter for the organization, which supports high-impact entrepreneurs across the country. Leadership changes at prominent support institutions often signal shifts in strategic focus or a desire to scale operations. The network operates globally to find and support business leaders who can generate long-term economic value.

Background of Mubariz Siddiqui in Pakistan Startup Sector

Siddiqui has been involved with Pakistan's startup sector since 2015. He founded Carbon Law, where he advised startups, investors and technology companies on venture financing, corporate structuring and regulatory matters. His legal and corporate background provides him with extensive familiarity with the challenges facing emerging businesses.

He also served as General Counsel at venture capital firm Sarmayacar and held senior legal positions on corporate and infrastructure projects. Legal expertise in venture financing is particularly valuable for early-stage companies trying to secure funding and comply with local regulations. Working within a venture capital firm gave him direct insight into what investors look for when backing founders.

What Endeavor Pakistan Does for Local Entrepreneurs

Endeavor Pakistan said it would identify entrepreneurs across different sectors, including retail, agriculture, healthcare, logistics, services and consumer brands. Finding high-potential founders requires scanning various industries to locate companies capable of scaling rapidly. These sectors represent critical areas of the domestic economy with significant room for technological and operational modernization.

Entrepreneurs selected by the organization become part of its international network, which operates in more than 45 markets and provides access to mentors, business contacts and potential investors. Being part of a global network helps local companies expand beyond domestic borders. Access to experienced mentors allows founders to avoid common pitfalls and accelerate their growth trajectories.

Leadership Perspectives on the Appointment

Mudassir Sheikha, Careem co-founder and Endeavor Pakistan's founding board chair, said the organization wanted to identify founders with the potential to build large companies across different sectors. Leadership involvement from experienced entrepreneurs helps guide the selection process. Building large companies requires strategic vision and operational discipline, traits that the board looks for during evaluation.

Siddiqui said entrepreneurship could provide opportunities for economic and social mobility in Pakistan. He added that the organization would work with founders, mentors and institutions to develop the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Institutional collaboration is necessary to build a supportive environment for business growth.
