Following her victory, the 32-year-old shared a lighthearted moment with her defeated opponent, posting a photograph on Sunday alongside Littler with the caption, "His card just got declined, I better pay."
The former hairdresser was seen grinning widely in the aftermath of the victory, while the teenage sensation appeared to take the rare defeat in stride. Sherrock celebrated long into the night with friends and family, posting pictures of herself sipping champagne as she processed the reality of her life-changing payday. The win stands as a major milestone in professional darts entertainment, bringing massive mainstream attention to the sport through the streaming platform.
How the Beat Luke Littler Challenge Unfolded
The television special brought together twenty participants to face off against the reigning teenage champion in a series of high-pressure matches. The format culminated in a tense one-leg shootout where margins for error were minimal and the financial stakes reached unprecedented heights for a single-episode television contest. Sherrock advanced through the rounds, maintaining her composure against fierce competition before outperforming the world number one in the decisive leg.
Backstage atmosphere during the recording was intense, with competitors watching the action closely as the enormous prize fund hung in the balance. Sherrock admitted that she was actively cheering for other participants during the early rounds of the tournament, noting that the sheer size of the purse created a tense environment for everyone involved. She clarified that her vocal support in the back room was driven by the life-changing nature of the money rather than any animosity toward the world champion.
Plans for the Life-Changing Prize Money
When questioned about how she intends to use the substantial financial windfall, Sherrock immediately focused on her family and long-term security. She stated her primary intentions for the funds, remarking, "Spoil Rory, probably buy a house with it." Her son Rory remains her central priority as she contemplates the practicalities of managing such a large sum of money.
Sherrock also acknowledged the tax implications of winning such a large television prize, quipping shortly after her victory, "It depends how much I get taxed." Despite the deduction uncertainties, she emphasized that the payout transforms her financial standing entirely. She addressed public misconceptions about her earnings by stating, "I feel like people think I have more money than I have, and I really haven't."
