Nine months after its launch, an official investigation regarding six Rawalpindi Development Authority officers suspended for unlawfully approving a housing project layout plan remains unfinished. The official handling the probe is scheduled to retire from service next year.
Media reports indicate that authorities suspended the six individuals following an investigation showing the layout plan for University Town received approval for 3,400 kanals despite the venture owning just 1,700 kanals.
The secretary of the Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department reviewed the findings and instructed Kanza Murtaza, who served as RDA director general at the time, to launch legal proceedings against the culprits.
The suspended personnel from the MP and T Directorate include Deputy Director Planning Samiullah Khan Niazi, Assistant Director Planning Shaza Tanveer, Assistant Director Land Haji Dilshad, Scheme Superintendent Shafqat Shah, Scheme Inspector Tariq Kamboh, and Draftsman Muhammad Afzal.
Masood Arshad, who works as Director Finance, received the appointment of inquiry officer to examine the case.
