Smartphone brand iQOO revealed the G1, a fresh mobile gaming controller built for smartphones and compact tablets, featuring customizable grips, physical buttons, and a direct USB-C link. The device includes drift-resistant joysticks, adjustable controls, and pass-through charging support. It launches in China on November 4, 2026, for approximately $75.
Design and Features
An expandable frame stretching up to 211mm lets users attach mobile phones and smaller tablets to the iQOO G1. Two sets of interchangeable magnetic grips ship with the device. Smaller grips improve portability, whereas larger grips deliver a traditional console feel. Weighing 176.5g with the large grips attached, the controller uses silicone padding to hold devices securely. Only a Cool Black color option is offered.
Gaming Controls
Hall effect joysticks and linear triggers provide precise inputs and minimize stick drift on the iQOO G1. The manufacturer states these joysticks endure up to five million uses. Three interchangeable thumbstick cap options let players customize their setup. Physical ABXY buttons with micro-switches, a tactile directional pad, and extra L4 and R4 shoulder buttons are built in. Players can program these shoulder buttons for different gameplay actions.
Connectivity and Charging
A direct USB-C port links the iQOO G1 to phones and tablets. Bluetooth pairing is unnecessary, and this wired connection eliminates Bluetooth latency. Because the controller lacks an internal battery, it draws power directly from the attached device. It supports 15W pass-through charging so users can plug in a power supply while playing.
Compatible Devices
Advanced software customization for the iQOO G1 runs through the company's Game Space and Game Magic Box applications. These utilities let users remap buttons, tweak joystick sensitivity and dead zones, and set up rapid-fire options. These software functions currently work only with four official devices:
- iQOO 16
- iQOO Neo12
- iQOO Pad Ultra
- iQOO Pad Pro 8.8
Compatible hardware must run OriginOS 7 or newer. Broad compatibility with other Android phones or tablets remains unannounced.
Pricing and Availability
In China, the iQOO G1 carries a price tag of approximately $75. Buyers bundling the controller with a qualifying iQOO phone or tablet get a discount of approximately $15, lowering the price to around $60. Sales start on November 4, 2026. The company has not shared plans for an international release outside China.
