Owners of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro in Europe are now receiving the Android 17 upgrade, based on a recent post on Reddit. Users need to download a 3.42GB file, and the firmware version becomes A171WMH.44-25 once installed.
New visual styling, better multitasking capabilities, and enhanced security features arrive with this software package. The company overhauled the quick settings and notification panels, and introduced fresh lock screen clock styles, a revised app drawer, a modified Settings application, and a different volume mixer.
Live Activities functionality for music playback, phone calls, and the flashlight debuts in Android 17. The release enhances themed icon compatibility and delivers fluid animations. A customer who upgraded noted that the Qira AI agent from Motorola performs effectively on the latest platform.
Back in April, Motorola launched the Edge 70 Pro pre-installed with Android 16. Because the device qualifies for three major OS updates, Android 17 serves as its initial big upgrade, following the Motorola Signature, Edge 60 Fusion, and Razr Ultra 2026.
The initial distribution phase appears restricted, meaning certain customers might need to wait up to several weeks, and regional availability outside Europe could take extra time. Edge 70 Pro buyers can look for the software via Settings > System updates, while the manufacturer advises creating a backup of critical files prior to starting the installation.
