British entrepreneur and finance YouTuber Mark Tilbury states that purchasing Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) could save individuals $5,000, which is about Rs. 1.38 million. He argues that the title offers much lower hourly entertainment costs than a standard evening out. Tilbury shared this breakdown in an Instagram video posted on October 31. This analysis arrived just weeks ahead of the November 19, 2026 release of GTA 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

How the $5,000 Claim Works

Tilbury bases his calculations on a $99.99 price tag for the title. He notes that completing the main story in 80 hours equates to roughly $1.25 per hour of amusement. The cost drops to approximately 50 cents an hour once map exploration and side missions are factored in.

He assumes an individual dedicates four hours each evening to the software, amounting to 50 nights of amusement. He states that a typical night out easily reaches $100, meaning 50 such nights would total $5,000. In the video, he explains that buying GTA 6 actually saves you $5,000.

The 50-cent hourly rate requires 200 hours of gameplay, matching four hours per night across 50 nights. Rockstar Games did not provide these playtime figures, as they are Tilbury's personal projections.

What GTA 6 Actually Costs

The $99.99 amount cited by Tilbury reflects the Ultimate Edition price. Rockstar announced that the Standard Edition retails for $79.99. Meanwhile, the Ultimate Edition includes in-game businesses, weapons, apparel, and premium vehicles for $99.99. ProPakistani previously covered the official pricing upon its June reveal.

Purchases or pre-orders completed prior to November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. Furthermore, digital pre-orders bundle a complimentary one-month subscription to GTA+.

Digital pre-order customers gain access to pre-load the software starting November 12. Physical editions include solely a download code inside the case without any disc.

What This Means for You

Based on the October 29 interbank close of Rs. 276.76 per dollar, the Standard Edition equals approximately Rs. 22,138. The Ultimate Edition totals about Rs. 27,673, excluding international card payment taxes or bank fees.

Applying Tilbury's framework makes the Standard Edition even more cost-effective per hour. At 80 hours, the cost sits near $1 or Rs. 277 per hour. At 200 hours, it decreases to roughly 40 cents or about Rs. 111 per hour.

The $5,000 figure represents a gross amount. Accounting for the $99.99 purchase price yields a net saving of roughly $4,900, or about Rs. 1.36 million. This calculation assumes the player would have spent $100 on each of the 50 nights.

A $100 night out, equivalent to about Rs. 27,676, remains very high for most Pakistani households. Consequently, any actual savings depend entirely on alternative spending habits.

The Catch

This financial breakdown excludes console hardware expenses. Since GTA 6 releases exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, users lacking those systems must purchase the hardware first.

Gamers must also secure adequate internet data and storage capacity to download the software, as pre-launch reports have detailed the download size requirements.
