Sony revealed the Prism Collection, a fresh lineup of transparent PlayStation 5 console covers and controllers that let players view internal hardware. Three colors make up this line, including Flare Orange, Graphite Gray, and Emerald Green. DualSense controllers cost approximately $85, and matching console covers carry a price of around $75. Pre-orders start on November 10, 2026, followed by the official release on February 4, 2027.
Transparent Design Reveals Internal Components
See-through styling serves as the main feature of the Prism Collection, giving buyers a peek at inner hardware inside the console and controllers. Transparent shells on the DualSense controllers show off internal parts like switches and buttons. Transparent sections are also built into the matching PS5 console covers, where the upper part reveals the cooling fan of the console. A glossy finish is applied by Sony across all three colors, giving these accessories a distinct look compared to standard PS5 hardware. According to the company, late 1990s transparent gaming accessories inspired this new collection.
Three Color Options
Three distinct finishes make up the availability of the Prism Collection. Flare Orange delivers a vibrant orange see-through style, Emerald Green provides a deeper green look, and Graphite Gray offers a neutral gray transparent finish. Both matching PS5 console covers and DualSense wireless controllers come in all three choices. The transparent look covers the rear of the controllers to show more internal hardware. Metallic detailing is also added by Sony on the console covers to match the see-through areas.
Pricing and Availability
US pricing for the Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers is roughly $85, as confirmed by Sony, while matching console covers cost about $75. Pre-orders begin November 10, 2026, via the official PlayStation online store in supported regions and participating stores. Accessories launch on February 4, 2027, though availability and dates can differ by location. Console covers will sell directly through PlayStation in supported markets, alongside limited stock at select retailers elsewhere. The manufacturer has not stated if these new covers fit every PS5 version or only specific models like the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro.
