HMD launched the Nokia 2360 Flip, a simple mobile device built for children, older adults, and individuals who want a basic handset. The gadget features Family Assist for remote settings management by relatives using their phones, alongside an emergency SOS button, parental controls, and a removable battery offering up to 15 days of standby time. Unlike the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition which supports 4G, this new model works only on 2G networks.

Design and Display

The Nokia 2360 Flip comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA primary screen displaying large menu icons, plus a 1.77-inch QQVGA external display for checking basic details without opening the handset. It includes a physical keypad, dedicated volume buttons, and an SOS key. Dimensions are 111.85 × 55.56 × 18.95mm and it weighs 121 grams. The hardware features a loudspeaker and HAC2011 hearing aid compatibility. Buyers can choose from Charcoal, Burgundy Red, and Teal.

Internals and Software

Operating on the S30+ system, the device packs 4MB of RAM and 4MB of storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It accepts dual Mini SIM cards but connects solely to 900MHz and 1800MHz 2G GSM networks, meaning it will fail to operate where 2G is shut down. Additional hardware includes a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM radio. It does not run smartphone software like YouTube or Google Maps.

Family Controls and Emergency Features

Family Assist lets another individual configure the handset remotely using a free Android and iOS application. Relatives can set up contacts, reminders, volume levels, and emergency numbers through SMS communication that requires no mobile data. The SOS button triggers a call to a designated number and texts up to five contacts when held for three seconds. Parents can activate School Mode to restrict the screen to the clock and emergency calls. Other controls include restricting calls and texts to approved contacts and turning off the camera or games using a Family PIN.

Cameras

A basic QVGA back camera with an LED flash is built into the device for simple photos.

Battery and Pricing

Power comes from a removable 1,450mAh battery delivering up to 15 days of standby time or 27.5 hours of talk time, though actual duration varies by usage and network conditions. HMD has not yet revealed the cost or target markets for the device, and the 2G network limitation remains a key factor for buyers where older networks are inactive.
