Developer CD Projekt Red released an unexpected patch for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 27. The surprise release came shortly after the large Version 2.5 Edgerunners 2 launch, catching many fans off guard before the studio explained the exact reason for the targeted download.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update Targets Bug Fix and Massive File Sizes
The fresh patch fixes a game-breaking glitch that blocked users in Argentina from opening their saved files. The company included no other gameplay additions or error corrections in this release.
@gielemanz It fixes an issue players in Argentina were having with accessing their saved game data. Due to the nature of such fixes, players in other regions will also see this update pop up and download for them, but it doesn’t affect anything other than that particular issue.

Download requirements differ significantly by platform. PlayStation 5 users must install a 1 GB file, while Xbox Series players face a 15 GB download. The size gap results from how each console handles internal files, causing frustration for some Xbox players who do not live in the affected region.
Soaring Steam Player Counts
With the Argentina save problem fixed, CD Projekt Red may focus again on Version 2.5 Edgerunners 2. Fans enjoy the free content, though the release brought new glitches that may require another patch.
Even with these technical problems, player numbers on Steam jumped after the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 launch. Concurrent users climbed from a usual 30,000 or 60,000 up to nearly 200,000 on launch day, pointing to strong interest for the future Cyberpunk 2.
