Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated on Thursday that the federal government wants digital education and cybersecurity awareness introduced in schools, colleges and universities to shield young people and children from online dangers.
During a speech at the closing event of Cybersecurity Awareness Week, he mentioned that Pakistan requires updated policies and a tougher regulatory framework to match fast-evolving technology.
Digital literacy must cover awareness of cyberattacks, fake news and online safety, according to Tarar. He pointed out that kids require instruction to identify digital threats and safeguard themselves while navigating online platforms.
Furthermore, he demanded modifications to educational curricula so they show the rising significance of cybersecurity and digital skills.
The minister explained that the administration must collaborate with appropriate stakeholders, conduct meetings and arrange training sessions to build awareness among the public.
He highlighted that cybersecurity knowledge must reach citizens nationwide, and he added that young individuals ought to be pushed to take on a bigger part in protecting Pakistan's digital future.
