University of Karachi leadership has prohibited faculty and support staff from publishing work-related details on social media networks. Registrar Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui signed a directive ordering employees to secure official permission before posting or forwarding any university documents online.
Leadership noticed that official letters and office orders concerning transfers, postings, additional charges, and suspensions of workers appeared in online groups without authorization, according to the directive.
Staff members must refrain from uploading institutional records or sending them to unauthorized individuals without clearance. The warning specifies that breaches of this order will face strict consequences and potential disciplinary measures under relevant laws, such as Rule 18 of the Government Servants Conduct Rules 1964.
Any official updates intended for public viewing will go out exclusively via authorized channels or the official social media pages of the University of Karachi.
