Prospective students aiming for four-year BS Allied Health Sciences programs at the University of Health Sciences Lahore now face a lower academic barrier, as the institution dropped its minimum Higher Secondary School Certificate marks requirement from 60 percent to 50 percent.

Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (R) Prof. Dr. Sohail Sabir led the 96th Syndicate meeting where officials cleared this modification, matching guidelines set by the Higher Education Commission.

Applicants who secure a minimum of 50 percent in their HSSC tests now clear the baseline academic standard for these courses, provided they fulfill all other relevant admission rules.

During the same gathering, the Syndicate cleared updates to admission-test rules and altered eligibility standards for specific MPhil and doctoral courses.

Additional choices featured the creation of five new PhD courses covering Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Oral Biology and Medical Laboratory Sciences, alongside 1,100 new evening spots in BS courses spread across 18 government-run nursing institutes in Punjab. University officials have not provided a starting date for this updated entry standard.
