Tech brand iQOO officially debuted the Neo12 in China, equipped with a built-in cooling fan, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and a massive 9,000mAh battery. The gaming-focused smartphone also comes with a 185Hz AMOLED display, a dedicated gaming chip, and support for 100W fast charging. It is already available for purchase in China, with prices starting at approximately $630.

Design and Display

The device features a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen built by Visionox, providing a 2K resolution along with a 185Hz refresh rate. This screen uses p-TSF technology and achieves up to 2,200 nits of peak brightness. An additional display chip handles screen-related processing tasks. Buyers can choose from three colors named Contender, Frost Blade Blue, and Shadow Black. Additional hardware includes an IP69 rating for water and dust protection, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner located underneath the display, and stereo speakers.

Internals and Software

Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, combined with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. A primary feature is an active cooling setup containing a built-in 59-blade fan. According to iQOO, the redesigned fan boosts airflow by approximately 10%, assisting the device in temperature management during heavy gaming sessions. A large 3D Ice Dome vapor chamber provides extra cooling support. For gaming performance, the company included its Q3 gaming chip, which enables ray tracing in select titles, 2K resolution upscaling, and frame-rate interpolation for smoother action. An infrared sensor is built into the device as well.

Cameras

The rear camera arrangement consists of a dual setup featuring a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor equipped with optical image stabilization alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, the manufacturer added a 16MP front-facing camera.

Battery and Pricing

Energy is supplied by a 9,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging. The device comes in five different RAM and storage configurations across the Chinese market. The entry-level model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs approximately $630, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version retails for around $735. The 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at approximately $690, and the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage option costs around $825.
