Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed a new free lunch initiative aimed at guaranteeing adequate nutrition for pupils attending public schools.

During a leadership meeting focused on enhancing educational standards in the capital, the prime minister mandated swift overhauls for Islamabad public schools touching on physical facilities, study plans, instructor preparation, and student amenities.

He tasked Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal with making sure every recognized problem gets fixed inside the set schedule.

Shehbaz Sharif told officials to gather existing resources for tackling building issues immediately, stressing that authorities owe learners a secure and appropriate study atmosphere.

He demanded the swift setup of smart boards across all public schools to upgrade instruction, alongside a thorough plan to turn the Federal Directorate of Education into a high-performing organization.

Instructors in public schools should concentrate entirely on instruction and academic tasks instead of handling unrelated work, according to the prime minister, who also mandated merit-based hiring for all educators.

To boost schooling access, Shehbaz Sharif urged the growth of the public school bus fleet and mandated the outsourcing of student transit backed by third-party checks.

Officials also received orders to adopt solar power at public schools, build ramps everywhere for students with physical disabilities, and supply proper healthcare services.

Participants learned during the session that the majority of public schools in Islamabad currently possess fundamental amenities such as web access, safe drinking water, and computer labs, though a survey pointed out building issues at certain locations.

Staff members also shared that 278 public buses currently run throughout Islamabad to move students enrolled in public schools.
