National Bank of Pakistan, listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange as PSX: NBP, posted a standalone after-tax profit of Rs 48.9 billion for the nine months ending September 2026, which fell below the figures from the previous year. According to the quarterly report sent on Thursday, 29 October 2026, earnings per share also dropped, and Imran Sarwar took over as President and CEO immediately.

Profit across both reporting bases

On a standalone basis, the bank earned Rs 103 billion before tax and Rs 48.9 billion after tax, with earnings per share standing at Rs 22.98.

Consolidated results showed a profit before tax of Rs 104 billion and a profit after tax of Rs 49.1 billion, while consolidated earnings per share reached Rs 22.83.

Earnings weakened from a year earlier

Both standalone after-tax earnings and per-share figures dropped compared to the matching nine-month timeframe from the prior year. The filing compares matching periods rather than mixing single quarters with cumulative totals.

Less profit for each share

While the bank stayed profitable, it brought in less income than during the same timeframe a year prior, meaning lower returns for each share.

Earlier dividend on file

The filing includes an earlier cash dividend announced on 25 Feb 2026, representing a payment distinct from current per-share earnings.
