Preparations for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League continue as all eight franchises gather for a crucial workshop on October 29.

Sources indicate the session will address player auction guidelines, tournament scheduling, operational procedures, and direct player acquisitions before the new season.

This gathering follows the Pakistan Cricket Board opening the direct-signing window until November 23, with the player auction set for January 23, 2027.

The pre-season roadmap allows every franchise to directly acquire one marquee player who missed both PSL 10 and PSL 11.

PSL 12 runs from March 18 to May 2, 2027, featuring eight competing teams.

Consultations between franchise owners and representatives during the PSL Governing Council meeting in London on September 1, 2026, finalized this tournament window.

This upcoming tournament follows PSL 11, which expanded the league to eight teams and debuted a player auction in place of the old draft system.

That previous season also set an attendance record when 32,461 fans attended the final at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Peshawar Zalmi won their first title in nine years by beating league newcomers Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3.
