Ahead of its November 6 launch, Apple's upcoming iPad mini (2026) has surfaced on Geekbench 7, providing an early performance preview of its A20 Pro processor. The tablet achieved 3,879 points in single-core testing and 9,870 points in multi-core evaluations, appearing under the model designation iPad19,2 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
According to the benchmark data, the processor features a five-core CPU containing two performance cores operating at 4.93GHz alongside three efficiency cores. This configuration indicates the evaluated hardware is either the 128GB or 256GB version, because Apple turns off one efficiency core for these storage tiers. Conversely, the 512GB version features the complete six-core A20 Pro processor, mirroring how the past iPad mini used a constrained processor variant.
Additionally, the Geekbench entry validates the presence of 12GB of RAM, even though Apple omits this detail from promotional documentation.
By comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro Max reached 4,024 points on single-core runs and 11,424 points on multi-core runs using the complete six-core A20 Pro processor. Consequently, the iPad mini trails by 4% in single-core tasks and 14% in multi-core tasks.
Yet, gains over the prior generation are substantially higher, given that the older iPad mini managed 2,638 single-core points and 7,103 multi-core points. Consequently, the 2026 edition achieves a 47% speed increase in single-core tasks and a 39% speed increase in multi-core tasks.
The benchmark data likewise highlights how the new tablet measures up against larger Apple tablets. Powered by the M5 chip, the iPad Pro 13 attained 3,580 single-core points and 15,126 multi-core points, leaving the iPad mini 8% ahead in single-core speed while the Pro stays 53% ahead in multi-core tasks.
Simultaneously, the M4-powered iPad Air 13 posted 3,206 single-core points and 12,686 multi-core points. While the fresh iPad mini outperforms it by 21% in single-core speeds, the Air maintains a 29% advantage in multi-core evaluations.
These figures demonstrate that the A20 Pro provides powerful single-core execution, though Apple processors from the M-series maintain an edge in multi-core processes due to extra cores. Carrying a starting price of $699, €749, or £699, the iPad mini (2026) has active pre-orders, and deliveries begin on November 6.
